Last month I visited Maldives with my family, for the 3rd time (already planned to go back later end of this year) yes thats how much we love the Maldives. Maldives is the most picturesque destination ever, the sand so white and the water crystal clear, you would never get used to how blue and glowing the water is. Like literally every corner around there is so just so beautiful and you’d want to capture it and take it back with you how I wish you could tho. It would be absolutely justified in calling it the paradise on earth. Its the dream destination for anyone who loves beaches.
An ideal vacation for me would be siting on the beach relaxing on the sun lounger, spending some time with the family, eating, having that little adventure which is covered by snorkel sessions (its so therapeutic watching the underwater world) and jet ski rides and yeah thats what Maldives is all about! I know Maldives is perceived as a couple destination but trust me if any of the above makes it to your vacation idea then there is no better place than Maldives and you don’t only see couples around like you must have assumed and heard but you do also see a lot of families holidaying too! so totally consider it!
This time we stayed in the Conrad Rangali Island, it took us around 30 mins sea plane ride from the Male Airport. It is a huge resort having two islands connected with this ginormous bridge, having 13 restaurants but we tried only 2 as we follow a strict diet. We explained our needs to the chef of the Atoll Market (one of the multi cuisine restaurant) and we didn’t wanna risk a good and a delicious meal we had already set. The staff was very cooperative at catering to our special requirements.
We booked 2 Deluxe Beach villas for 3 nights and also stayed in the Family Water villa for the last night. The bathrooms of the Beach villas were huge compared the actual room, it has an open shower and bath area and a separate toilet inside the room. The room had a king size bed and a huge couch which was converted into the extra bed for one villa as we are 5. It also had a plunge pool. You’d always want to to stay in a beach villa if you want a better snorkel experience as the house reef is closer and you have better access which is what we always opt for. So just as we stepped outside the room we had direct access to the main house reef (we had rooms 224 and 225 if you’re wondering). Staying in a Water villa is a total different experience overlooking the ocean, it was a gorgeous room also had it is own hot tub outside but all of this could be down side at night when the tides are higher than usual then it becomes disturbing at night.
Okay now the highlight of this was trip was our Jet Ski Excursion, on our third day we booked an hour long jet ski excursion in hope to find Dolphins and Manta Rays. It was one of the best experience of my life, that fast thrilling ride on the jet ski (yes you get drive the jet ski on your own and way full speed) don’t worry there is a guide that takes you(obviously). We were lucky enough to spot few dolphins even saw one showing off a flip (didn’t see Manta Rays tho) but honestly even if we dint see any of it, it would have still been the most fantastic thing we had done so far. Proof we loved it so much that we went for an hour again on the last day. On the fourth day we booked a snorkel excursion with a speed boat which was again great an experience as we stopped at an deserted island to look for some marine life and we spotted some baby sharks (not scary at all)!
So it was I’d say quite an adventurously relaxing holiday, if that makes any sense! Regarding the resort tho it was not as luxury as we’d like it to be specially as compared to the ones we had been in there which were- W Resort and Jumeriah Vittaveli. Nevertheless it was a fantastic trip and look forward to experiencing another Island next time.
P.S. We were there for 5 days.
Thanks for reading! Until my next post take care!
