SHANGHAI’17- THROWBACK

Since I have really been lagging behind, here is a little recap I visited China with my brother and a cousin in the month of May in 2017 (go check my blog where in we covered Macau) After being in Macau for 2 days (all about it in the previous blog), before we could realize, it was time for China and our first stop was Shanghai. We had heard so much about Shanghai being the hub of Chinese culture we were looking forward to experience it all. We stayed in Shanghai for 3 night and on the first night in Shanghai after hours of our flight delay we reached the Wanda Hotel at the Bund late night which quite didn’t all go according to our plans and hence wasting a whole day but I don’t regret because the Hong Kong Airport doesn’t disappoint and keeps you pretty occupied shopping. Later that night after checking into the gigantic Wanda Hotel we went to see the main shopping street called Nanjing Road. It is also said to be one of the world’s busiest shopping street and by the looks of it even at night, clearly it was busy.

Before I begin to tell what all we covered in Shanghai I’d like to first share how beautiful our Room was in Wanda Hotel. We booked for the Executive Suite and what a gorgeously done up room! Had a view of the beautiful Bund from the Giant windows. Special mention to the one of the best bathrooms I ever seen, complete bathroom goals. Also if you didn’t know already China really lacks behind the whole thing of english being a global language, even the staff at the hotel didn’t understand English. We really suffered explaining the housekeeping staff the simplest task of getting us extra towels so just imagine how difficult it was to communicate with the locals specially Taxis (google translator came to rescue)

The morning after having a delicious breakfast at the hotel we headed to visit the Yu Garden, walking distance from our hotel which is an extensive Chinese garden, it was over crowded and to be honest nothing special just another picture taking spot to wander around. Also took a tour of the City God Temple of Shanghai located besides the Garden. We then walked around the Bund also giving a better view of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower.

Last on on our list of Things to do in Shanghai was to visit the recently opened Disneyland (even while I write this I am just so excited) so we did. We changed hotels to a one near Disneyland so that we could hit the park right on time next morning. The last day in Shanghai was rather Exciting and Magical.

Disney Shanghai has the the cheapest Disney Merchandise, so go get shopping while you’re in there. One tip for skipping the long queues, after entering the park ask at the reception for special Fast Passes that comes as a combo to buy separately. The other easy way is to advance book online a VIP Tour for you and your family its the ultimate guided tour skipping all queues with VIP Access to every ride, definitely expensive but worth each penny.

After the most amazing time in shanghai we were now headed to Beijing, our last destination. All about Beijing will be posted next on the blog. Thanks for reading x
